BLACK SPOT ALGI

Black spot algi* *is a plant That puts its roots down Into the concrete. Pebble Pools are particularly prone to black spot.
Supercide twice per year is a good preventative. but you cannot use this product if you use GRANULAR CHLORINE. Tip algicide evenly around the pool, brush the surface of the pool at least twice per week, to scratch the surface of the black spot. This allows the algicide to get to the roots and kill it off. It could take two to four weeks to completely kill black spot.
If using Supercide, do not swim for 24 hours. Particularly if you are a blonde.

POOL WATER PROBLEMS

CLOUDY WATER

High pH, Poor Filtration, Heavy Use of Pool.
1. Check and adjust pH.
2. Check filter, clean or backwash as necessary.
3. Vacuum and filter the next day.
4. Operate filter for longer periods.
5. Use Clarifier as recommended by pool shop.

EYE IRRITATION, UNPLEASANT ODOURS

Low ph, Chloramines Present, Chlorine levels too low
1. Check and adjust pH.
2. Superchlorinate.
3. Maintain correct pH and total alkalinity levels.
4. Maintain correct free available chlorine levels,

COLOURED WATER

Dissolved Metals, (Mostly iron), Organic Material
1. Check and adjust pH.
2. Superchlorinate.
3. Vacuum and filter next day.

SLIPPERY POOL SURFACE

Algae Present
1. Check and adjust pH.
2. Superchlorinate.
3. Brush with pool broom to remove.
4. Add ALGAE CONTROL as recommended by pool shop.

METAL FIXTURES CORRODING

Low pH.
1. Adjust pH to 7.2 7.6.
2. BUFFER
3. Consult pool shop

GREEN POOL


pH Too low. Ineffective Chlorine
1. Check and adjust pH.
2. Superchlorinate. See pool shop for dosage.
3. Vacuum and filter next day.
4. Clean next day.
5. Add ALGAE CONTROL.

Maintain 1 to 2 pipm free chlorine at all times.


RAPID CONSUMPTION OF CHLORINE
Low pH, Water Unstabilised
1. Adjust pH and alkalinity.
2. Test pool stabiliser level at pool shop.
